One of the school’s highest achievers, Jamal, is today celebrating an exceptional set of results, with 9 grades in Maths and the Sciences. Jamal credited his teachers with pushing him on to achieve his potential:
“The teachers at ATS really drive you to succeed. They offer interventions if you are struggling and push you on with A Level work if you are doing well. Because ATS is a small school you get individual teaching and attention”.
From the incoming Headteacher:
Simon Wilson, who will take over from outgoing Jim Henderson as Headteacher in September, was delighted with the results: “I would like to congratulate students on their fantastic achievements today. They have set the bar high for 2020, but I’m sure the next GCSE students will rise to the challenge.
“The school has made outstanding progress in the last two years and students are clearly benefitting. As an incoming Headteacher I’m excited to develop what has already been put in place and see the school continue to go from strength to strength.”
In addition to the excellent exam results in core subjects, there have been some spectacular individual performances:
- Jamal achieved grade 9 in Maths and Sciences
- Junior secured a grade 8 in Maths and 7 in English Literature
- Jerry scored 8 in Religious Studies and Maths, as well as 7 in Music
- Benjamin achieved 8 in Religious Studies, 7 in English Literature, and 6 in English Language and Maths
Another high-achiever, Jerry, who wants to go on to study Maths at university is grateful to both his teachers and his peers:
“The school culture pushes you to do your best. The teachers are always there for you, both to help with your studies or any other issues you have, and the other students make sure you are doing your best and pushing yourself.”
