Mathematics at Tenison's
Curriculum Intent for Mathematics
In Mathematics, we develop wisdom through the teaching and learning of the core concepts which revolve around resolving the truth by mathematical proof, the objectivity of knowledge and the undeniability of facts. God is truth and Mathematics seeks to find it. We therefore aim to help our students develop critical thinking to help them choose the right path for themselves and enable their community to thrive.
The very essence of community is embedded in Mathematics lessons where students learn from one another, lead by example, model their reasoning and encourage their neighbour to excel.
Hope is demonstrated by the understanding of the idea that every Mathematical problem has a solution. Our students develop problem solving skills which shape their character and make them believe that every problem in life has a solution.
At Archbishop Tenison's, our curriculum has been developed with a clear focus on the core knowledge we think every child should learn.
