BAME Literature and media: Our RecommendationsBLM Literature Recommendation

At Archbishop Tenison’s School, we believe in the power of reading to help us ‘let our light shine’ by developing in our reading skills and by enabling us to be better citizens of our community through education and supporting each other. Books not only provide us with a moment of escapism and relaxation, but they can teach us so much about ourselves, our history and the world around us.

Here is our list of recommended books to read which shine a light on the different and shared stories of the diverse world in which we live. We have also included stories to help us navigate our way through this difficult time. It is a small selection of the vast number of books out there and we hope you find solace in them. One book featured on our list is The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas (pictured right).

We have also created a list of other media resources to further help educate us on the racism and the injustice that is affecting our communities. This will help us to better understand our past, and work for our future - by supporting each other and standing in solidarity.
