Geography
The Geography Department is committed to providing pupils with the most up to date teaching and learning strategies so that we can continue to raise pupil achievement and progress.
The Department uses key skills such as: problem solving, decision-making skills, thinking skills and communication to enhance and support learning. We see fieldwork as an essential part of the development of pupils' understanding of the world.
The Department focuses its teaching on providing pupils with the knowledge and understanding of key geographical themes such as fragile environments, natural hazards, the growth of settlements, sustainable developments etc. We also explore and use a wide range of localities from the local to the global. We believe Geography should be current and relevant to all, thereby providing pupils with an upto date knowledge of important key events.
We aim to develop all pupils so that they gain a life-long love of Geography, with an understanding of the world and its changing nature. This will enable pupils to become worthwhile and valuable citizens.
