The KS3 Secondary Geography Quality Mark Award Autumn Award 2010
In recognition of excellence in teaching and learning in geography
I am delighted to announce that The Geographical Association has awarded the KS3 Secondary Geography Quality Mark (SGQM) to Archbishop Tenisons' School.
All the award winners underwent a rigorous moderation process during July, and the team of assessors were hugely impressed by the manner in which all are embracing the new opportunities afforded by the curriculum changes at KS3. The SGQM, sponsored by the Action Plan for Geography and the DfE, is now in its fourth year and reflects the national standard for the teaching of quality geography. It aims to promote effective subject leadership and management so helping subject leaders raise the standards of geography in their schools.
Well done to Ms Emmett and Mr Gyves in our Geography department !
Parents' Information Evening, Tuesday 21st September
We are planning to have an ICT Information Evening for parents and carers on Tuesday 21st September at 6pm in the school dining hall. We will be explaining how our new cashless catering system will operate as well as providing information about our parent portal. Afterwards there will be the opportunity to discuss matters relating to the school in our Parent Staff Association metting.
If you are unable to attend but would like to be more actively involved in your son's education then please send an email to Mr Bromfield (bromfield.d1@ats.lambeth.sch.uk ) or write a note which can be delivered to him at school.
Sixth Form
Our sixth form are currently completing their enrolement.
Sixth form lessons will start from Tuesday 7th September.

Letting Us Know How we Are Doing
As a school we are keen to ensure that we do our best for you and your son. To do this we need you to tell us when we get it right and how we might be able to make things better.
There are several ways to get in touch
- write a note in your son's diary
- write a letter which your son can give to the relevant teacher or Head of Year
- phone the school (02077353771) and leave a message for a teacher
- email the school , school@ats.lambeth.sch.uk
We are always happy to meet with parents and carers by appointment , but is best not to turn up unannounced as staff may not be available.
