On Day 1 an excited group of students were taken to Chelsea Football stadium and given a warm welcome by Darren Smith (active London Coach/Instructor 2009/2010) who is the Lambeth Council Sports representative. They were ushered into a conference room where they were given a 15 minute lecture to explain the activities and purpose of the different sections in the stadium. After which there was a tour around the stadium with the guidance of Shelly Alexander a member of staff of BBC sports. After the tour students were given some basic training in camera skills to which the students responded with great enthusiasm.
The next day, the students were taken to the recording studios of the BBC Main office in Woodland White City where a team of BBC staff were waiting to welcome and engage them.
A short lecture was given and students were regrouped and put on task with studio equipment. With the guidance of staff of the BBC, they produced a new version of the programme "Extra Time". Extra time is the football show that takes a fresh look at 2010 World cup .The entire programme can be viewed at the BBC website (www.bbc.co.uk/21cc/extratime).
During the two days, the students were equipped with the skills of TV Presenting, Production, Editing and Animation. The boys interviewing skills were amazing as they expressed their views confidently, also showing a clear understanding of the importance of sports and the need to have unity in a diverse society. This workshop has given them a great confidence boost.
Their performance throughout the workshop was excellent and their behaviour was outstanding. The entire venture was a great success.

On Friday 16th July there was a 2nd non-uniform day as part of the fund-raising to cover the costs for two year 11 students ( Daniel Odoru and Joshua Famewo ) who are travelling to Singapore to volunteer at the Youth Olympics in August. Students chose to wear their "own clothes" on July 16th but brought a minimum of £1.00 to hand to their form tutor. Funds from this event will also go towards the charity , "Sport Relief". We are still awaiting the total monies raised , so watch this space !
Anyone who wishes to make a direct donation to support this event should send money , preferably as a cheque payable to "Archbishop Tenison's school " to Mr Mortimer, the Bursar.
Please note that school uniform should be as normal for the rest of the week. If boys wish to leave their jumpers at home they may do so, but blazers must be worn to and from school at all times.

For the 2nd year in a row an ATS student has been elected to the UK Youth Parliament. After the successful appointment of Andrew Short last year, we now have Daniel Long in year 9 elected to this important role.
The UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) enables young people to use their energy and passion to change the world for the better. Run by young people for young people, UKYP gives the young people of the UK, between the age of 11 and 18 a voice, which is heard and listened to by local and national government, providers of services for young people and other agencies who have an interest in the views and needs of young people.

If I was Mayor of Lambeth.....
If I was Mayor of Lambeth I would want to change a lot of things so that I can make sure that Lambeth could become a safer place and a more successful place.
Firstly I would want the children to enjoy the places that they go to and to make sure that children could be safer at all times.
So I think that this idea would help lower and help to stop crimes.
Also as the Mayor of Lambeth I would add more play areas (such as football pitches, parks, and basketball fields). The reason why I would do so is because children wouldn't be stuck in their houses playing their computer games. Children would become fit and healthy playing activities with their friends running around play areas, this would help children to enjoy themselves outside and also to get fresh air, instead of playing games at home.
As well as helping Lambeth I suggest that Lambeth should help raise money for the people in poor in other areas. For example I could suggest that people to do more fund raising activities for the poor of all countries. This would help the poor people as well as the people of Lambeth.
If I become Mayor of Lambeth I would make sure that Lambeth would become a better and safer place
My aim is to create a group in which youths or youths and their families can come to a Centre to discuss their problems and how it affects their lives. The Centre will provide advice and support so that they are able to get through their issues. This support system will help decrease the numbers of homes with problems and help bring more confidence within families. In addition this will also improve the respect in the households meaning better behaviour outside.
One of the first things Daniel will do is attend a training residential in the Isle of Wight this week-end where he will be taught about all aspects of his role. The session will include the other elected members from all the London Regional elections. We will keep you posted on how Daniel gets on in his role.
